Jayendra J. Lakhamapurkar (Deputy Director), Gujarat Ecology Society is associated with the organization since 1995. He holds master degree in Geology and PhD from M.S. University of Baroda. Has worked extensively in subjects like applied ecology, climate change, coastal water monitoring, geology and hydro-geology. Worked on more than 40 projects, mainly on subjects related to coastal and marine environment – corals, mangroves, tidal flats, estuaries, gulfs, coastal dunes and marine water monitoring.  Has contributed to several reports and published 17 papers in peer reviewed journals. Has attended several national and international conferences, including IUCN forums, at Barcelona in 2008 and Jeju (South Korea) in 2012.  Associated with training and awareness on ecology especially among students.
